It had been reported earlier that A.G. Perarivalan has been granted parole to meet his ailing father. He had been kept under custody by the police since 1991 with respect to the Rajiv Gandhi assassination.

Following this, actor Sathyaraj posted a video sharing his opinion regarding the same. In the video Sathyaraj said, “Today is one of the happiest days in my life. A.G Perarivalan has been granted parole. I would be even more happy if he is set free. Not only him but I also wish that all the 7 people are set free by the police.

Today to I would like to share my happiness with Ayya Kuyildasan, Arpudhammal and everybody in Perarivalan’s family. I am here in Fiji for a shooting. If I return to Chennai before his parole ends, I would definitely go and meet him and share my happiness with him personally. Thank you.”
