DR MGR UNIVERSITY'S ARCH CONVERGE'17

Dr MGR University's Faculty of Architecture had organized a two-day National Conference ARCH CONVERGE'I 7 on 17th and 18th February 2017. It is a conference organized to bring out the recent developments in the Architectural Field especially smart cities, an area popularized due to the ever growing demands in planning and designing forms, space and 'ambience to reflect functional, technical, social, environmental, and aesthetic considerations. The conference is aimed at young architects, researchers and academicians to meet in a common platform and share their views, ideas and recent innovations in their field.

Day I of the conference started with a grand Inauguration. Prof. Meenakshi Parthasarathy, Director, Faculty of Architecture welcomed the gathering and Prof. Swetha Madhusudhanan, Dean, Faculty of Architecture briefed on the event. President of Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute University Er. A.C.S Arunkumar flagged off the opening ceremony. Noted keynote speakers Prof. Biplab Kanti Sengupta and. Dr. Nambi Appadurai mesmerized the audience with' their scintillating speech followed by Ar. .Shankar Arumugham's presentation on smart cities.

The inauguration came to an end with Prof.Radhika, HOD proposing the vote of thanks. The afternoon session saw paper presentations by participants from all over the nation.

The second day of the conference had paper presentations and panel discussion by reputed architects which was followed by the valedictory function in the evening.
