Former President APJ Abdul Kalam interested Vivekh in planting trees. The actor has campaigned for the Tamil Nadu government's dengue awareness, corona awareness and vaccine awareness programs.

He was at home in Saligramam this morning and had chest pain. His family then took him to the SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani. He was admitted to the ICU and was treated by the cardiologists there.

Later, reports emerged that he underwent angio treatment. ECMO treatment was also given to Vivekh. The hospital management has released a statement on the actor's health, which reads as follows -

Actor Padma Shri Dr. Vivek was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state by 11:am, today to the emergency by the family members. He was resuscitated in the emergency room by specialists. Later he underwent Emergency Coronary Angiogram followed by Angioplasty. He is currently in critical condition on ECMO in the Intensive Care Unit.

This is an acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock. This is a separate Cardiac event. It may not be due to COVID vaccination. (sic)
