Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos might have impressed the critics but gained mixed reviews among the movie lovers which resulted in an average first weekend gross of Rs. 32 cross. But that is not going to be enough, says trade analyst.
Jagga Jasoos was in production for the last four years, and it was made at the cost of Rs. 110 crores. The major funding of the movie was in its post production stage which was helmed by Disney who also happens to be one the distributors of the film.
The latest we hear is that Disney may lose Rs. 40 crores because of the film’s poor performance at the box office. Trade analysts also say that the film's massive budget demanded the film to have a great opening, but unfortunately the film did not have a good release as expected.
Jagga Jasoos was supposed to hit the screens at the overseas market a day before its actual release, but later due to post production corrections, the film’s overseas and special screenings were cancelled which is said to be a major setback for the makers of the film.
