The elections for the Director’s Union was held yesterday (30th July) at the premises of the Cine Music Artists Association in Vadapalani.
Director Vikraman was elected as the President of the Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association with a landslide majority. He won 1532 votes out of 1601 that were polled which amounts to 96% votes. Vikraman contested against director Murali, who was a part of the Pudhiya Alaigal faction. Vikraman's team of Pudhu Vasantham had other winners in the form of NS Ramesh Kanna and A Venkatesh.
While the association has around 2300 members, nearly 1565 members cast their votes through the day. Polling began at 8 a.m. and ended at around 4.30 p.m., following which the votes were counted. Around 40 postal votes were received. The elections took place for 21 posts.
