The audio launch of Sai Pallavi's debut Tamil film, Karu, happened this morning, on February 24. The film, directed by Vijay, has music by Sam.C.S, and cinematography by Nirav Shah.
During his speech, director Vijay revealed that Sai Pallavi initially rejected doing the film, since it was a horror film. Vijay said, "After Lyca confirming that they will fund this film, I wanted to cast Sai Pallavi in the lead role. I knew that she was rejecting many scripts in Tamil, that were coming to her. When I went and told her that I would like to cast her for Karu, she immediately rejected and told she can't do the film, since her mother also doesn't like horror films.
She didn't listen to the script. Then, I convinced her to listen to the story, and take a final call. After listening, she agreed to do the film. Once she came onboard, the film got a new dimension, and the expectations started to rise. Pallavi is the biggest strength of Karu, and her performance was so realistic.
She will definitely create an impact in Tamil cinema, as an actor, and directors will specially write stories catering to her. I wish her all the best, and thanks for accepting to do Karu."
