Amongst so many reactions to Rajinikanth's political entry, Director V Gowthaman has strongly condemned Rajini's entry into politics.
In a press meet with the media, the director said, "Bal Thackeray, a religious jingoist from Maharashtra is revered as a fatherly figure by Rajinikanth. When he calls Bal Thackeray, his fatherly figure, I doubt his authenticity of claiming to provide a religion-free administration. Rajini says he will provide a caste-free, religion-free spiritual politics. For me, religion and spirituality are not two very different things.
Rajini is not of our race. If he is, why didn't he voice out during the Eelam war or during Anitha's suicide or during the farmer's suicide or even during Okhi cyclone? Narendra Modi claims to be Rajini's close friend. If Rajini really wanted, he could've made our voices reach the Prime Minister on the Cauvery issue, but why did he remain silent? He also has many friends in Karnataka but why didn't he speak to the right people at the right time? If he really wants to serve people, why is he focussing on elections alone? There are so many ways to serve people.
What has he achieved so great in Tamil Nadu apart from making all youngsters smoke and drink through his films? Now that he has come out of everything after getting treatment in Singapore, what is his answer for all those who have died smoking and drinking after watching him in the cinema? I am not against Rajini's political entry, having not done anything to this land, how can he think of ruling us? Rajini reacted so much when Rajkumar was kidnapped by Veerappan, but where does he go when TN fishermen lose their lives in bunches?
Tamilisai Soundarrajan says that BJP's principles and Rajinikanth's principles are the same. This tells everything about his connection with the BJP. There is a quest for power from Poes Garden again and if Rajini contests in the elections, I will stand opposite him and will defeat him."
The latest buzz around everyone has been Superstar Rajinikanth’s announcement with respect to his political entry. A lot of people have been sharing their opinions and views on this. Next in line is director Gowthaman. In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, he said:
“I am not against Rajinikanth entering politics but he has not done any kind of field work with respect to his decision yet. Kamal Haasan has been tweeting a lot about political issues but apart from that he has also not done anything. Both Rajini and Kamal can come to politics but definitely not without any field work.”
