Director Shankar was seen in an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, discussing about the making of his latest magnum opus 2.0, starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. The interaction didn't end with just 2.0, but also dealt with his other films. Here is the follow up, the second part of director Shankar's interview, in which he discusses about the plans of making Mudhalvan 2, his favourite songs, and scenes, and a lot more.
When he was asked if he will do Mudhalvan 2, given the current political scenario, Shankar replied, "Definitely, if a story of that kind gets formed, I will do it for sure. I have been witnessing all the incidents that happen in every time period and if I get inspired to write a story out of one such incident, I will definitely do. If that story haunts me continuously, I can definitely make it as Mudhalvan 2. It can be a political film, or a film dealing with a sensitive social issue."
While asked if he would approach Vijay for the lead role, keeping in mind that Mudhalvan was initially pitched to him, the ace director said, "I will approach him if the film's story demands his presence. If the story demands Rajini, I will approach Rajini. If it wants Kamal Haasan to be the lead, I will approach him, and likewise, if the need is Vijay, then I will ask him. If the story demands Vijay, I will definitely work with him."
Wouldn't it be exciting to see Mudhalvan 2 with Thalapathy Vijay in Shankar's direction? Only time has to answer!
