For the past few days, the usury issue has been spreading like wildfire. This has been in the news after the tragic suicide of producer Ashok Kumar. Some celebrities have spoken against financier Anbuchezhiyan, and some have also issued statements in favor of him. There have also been various rumors floating on the internet that actress Devayani was tortured by Anbuchezhiyan, several years back.
Devayani starred in a film called Kadhaludan, directed by her husband, Rajakumaran. It is said that they had taken a loan from him for producing the film. We contacted Rajakumaran to find out more about this, and this is what he had to say:
"Anbuchezhiyan is a gentleman; he is extremely genuine, I have borrowed money from him and have properly returned it after the release of my film. In my personal experience with him, he has not caused any trouble. He is a gem of a person. I would compare him to director Vikraman, as both of them are very kind hearted and great human beings."
In today's BW Thala Special birthday campaign, director Rajakumaran, who was recently seen as an actor in Kadugu, talks to us about his experiences working with Ajith.
He opens up by saying, "I have experience of working with Ajith sir in two films, Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen (as an AD) and Nee Varuvai Ena (as director). During the shoot of Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen, he promised me that we will do a film and that became true with my directorial debut Nee Varuvai Ena. My whole life changed with that one film and the reason is Ajith sir".
To Ajith, he says, "We all call you 'ji' and you also address everyone by 'ji'. It was always very easy to meet you ji. The fans and audience are calling you 'Thala', but 'unga thala ya kooda velila paaka mudiyardhu illa ji' (we are not able to even see your head anywhere else outside). Please come out and see everyone ji, we will not eat you. We aren't that bad people and we just want to see you. Come out and speak to us ji."
