Veteran Malayalam filmmaker Iruppam Veedum Sasidaran alias IV Sasi passed away today, the 24th of October. He was 70 years old and breathed his last in Chennai this morning.
Sasi hails from Kozhikode, and has directed over a hundred and fifty Malayalam films. He made his directorial debut back in 1968 with the film Kaliyalla Kalyanam. It must be noted that Sasi was the one who introduced Mammootty as a hero, in his film Thrishna.
He has also directed Kamal Haasan, and Rajinikanth's Tamil/Malayalam bilingual film Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum in 1979.
