NIVIN PAULY'S GHILLI DAD!

Director Gautham Ramachandran is currently busy with his Tamil remake of Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandanthe. This Tamil film features Nivin Pauly, Natty, Lakshmipriya Chandramouli and others.

Veteran Prakash Raj has also been brought on board this film. He plays Nivin’s dad and Gautham updates about the same:

“I have made a lot of changes in the Kannada script and therefore there will be some alterations in some of the character sketches. We wanted someone who had not been a father for 10-15 years and there should be some kind of hostility. In that sense, we had just a few options and Prakash Raj was the best one.

But people had told me that he was not taking projects now. I contacted him through a friend. He was happy as he had seen the Kannada film. He had asked me about the character and also for dialogues. I gave it in my next meeting.Nivin was also there with me. In fact, after reading the dialogues, he gave his signature laugh. He agreed instantly and said that he was happy to be a part of a young team.

We have completed most of his portions. I just have very little portions of his to be shot. He is a one take artist and completes the process well ahead. He had saved a lot of call sheet for us.

We completed the first two schedules at Manappad, Kuttralam and Tuticorin. We just have one last schedule to go which will begin in a week’s time. With this, we will be done with the shooting. Simultaneously editing is going on. Songs are almost done”.
