Amid high expectations, the makers of 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, dropped the first look of the film on Twitter. Featuring Kamal Haasan in the centre, Vijay Sethupathi to the left and Fahadh Faasil to the right, the poster showed the trio having wound mark on their faces. The intense first look grabbed eyeballs and soon went viral.
As fans went gaga over the poster, many film enthusiasts spotted an important detail about it and shared their views on social media. The first look poster released by Lokesh Kanagaraj is strikingly similar to Kamal Haasan's 2004 movie 'Virumaandi' starring him, Pasupathy and Napolean in lead roles.

Did @Dir_Lokesh just gave a poster tribute to the master @ikamalhaasan s #Virumandi only or Is this also dropping a hint that this #Vikram deals with #TheRashomonEffect narrative ?

When Behindwoods spoke to Lokesh Kanagaraj, he revealed that it was a fanboy moment to direct Kamal Haasan in his film and that he felt it's been a long time since he saw him in "a strong action film". "It was surprising to see him showcase even the minute expressions. It was a big boon for me. We found it hard to say 'Cut' after every scene," he said.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film and Girish Gangadharan will be cranking the camera.
