Chiranjeevi Sarja isn't amongst us now. But his memories continue to linger. The young actor was known to be an unabashed Rajinikanth fan and had expressed his disappointment at not catching the first-day first show of Lingaa, way back in 2014, when the movie had released, for he had to shoot that day.
When Kaala had released in 2018, he had also extended his support, saying he wouldn't discriminate a film based on the language in which it is releasing. The film's release in Karnataka reached a roadblock after Superstar's comments on the Cauvery issue didn't go down well in the neighbouring state. Finally, the decks were cleared and the film released.
Sarja was laid to rest at the family-owned farmhouse yesterday. Countless fans and a bunch of celebrities paid their last respects to the departed actor.
According to the hospital authorities, the actor was brought to its Jayanagar unit in an unresponsive state around 2.20 pm on Sunday and was immediately shifted to the emergency room for treatment.
“On examination, he was found unresponsive with absent carotid pulse, cold peripheries and bilateral dilated pupils. Hence, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was started according to the latest Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocol. Resuscitation was continued till 3.48 pm. During this time, intravenous medications, inotropes and advanced airway was used, pulse was achieved three times (ROSC), later continued to be asystolic. He was declared dead at 3.48 pm,” Dr Yatheesh Govindaiah, Unit Head of Apollo Hospitals, Jayanagar, said.
