Dhanush and Vetrimaaran joined together for the fourth time to give another commercial and critical blockbuster, in the name of 'Asuran'. The film starred Manju Warrier, Pasupathi, Ken Karunas and Teejay among others in pivotal roles.
Asuran was bankrolled by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, who is also producing Dhanush's Karnan with Mari Selvaraj currently. GV Prakash's music and Velraj's shots amplified the feel of the warring rural-drama.
Recently, young actor Ken Karunas had a live interaction with his fans through his Instagram handle in which he answered various questions put out by his followers. When a person asked if he will also be acting in the Telugu version of Asuran that is currently being canned, the actor said no. However, he said that he has signed his next project and will announce it soon.
Asuran is remade in Telugu titled 'Naarappa'. Actor Venkatesh Daggubati will reprise Dhanush and Priya Mani will play Manju Warrier's fierce character. The film is produced once again by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, along with Suresh Babu.
