The Dhanush-Vetri Maaran combo is known to be one of the most successful actor-director collaborations of Tamil cinema. Together, the duo has made four films, namely Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran.
Apart from that, the director's crime-drama Visaranai was bankrolled by Dhanush under the banner Wunderbar Films. Recently, the first look of 'Guns of Banaras' was recently unveiled. The film is the Hindi remake of the combo's first outing together, Polladhavan.
The first look poster featured the film's actor Karan Nath's look as Guddu Shukla. Directed by Shekkhar Suri, Guns of Banaras stars Nathalia Kaur as female lead and is slated to release on February 28. The project has been delayed for many years due to various reasons.
Released in 2007, Polladhavan dealt with the story of an average youngster who gets into a fight with a local gangster after his bike gets stolen. The film was well-received by critics and audiences.
