Yesterday (February 9th), we had reported about Dhanush’s project with Gautham Menon, Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta that will begin soon after his film, Kodi with Durai Senthilkumar. Though the announcement of his other film, Vada Chennai with the National Award winning director Vetri Maaran happened few years back, he has completed many projects in the interim gap.
We had reported that Dhanush has set aside 200 days for this ambitious gangster outing. While trying to put yourself in the star’s shoes, it appears that he may be trying to make sure that he does not enter a sabbatical while working for Vada Chennai by planning on his films well.
While looking at Dhanush’s filmography, since the time he made his entry into the industry, he has made sure that at least one film releases every year while he has gone upto a maximum of 5 films a year in 2011, 2013 and 2015. His degree of activity and energy has been huge.
Considering this, may be that is what Dhanush is trying to do through Kodi, Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta and his Hollywood debut film The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Cupboard. While he will be busy shooting for Vada Chennai, he will simultaneously have these films hitting the big screen.
It should also be noted that both the above mentioned Tamil films are planned to be a short projects with very less production time, while the Hollywood one might take up only few days to wrap Dhanush’s portions (going by the novel). This suggests that the shooting of Vada Chennai is sure to begin in 2016.
If this is his strategy, it is indeed an impressive and a smart one!
