Bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu, the film also featured Prakash Raj, Ken Karunas, 'Aadukalam' Naren, Teejay amongst others in lead roles. On the technical side, Asuran's cinematographer is handled by R Velraj, and the story of Asuran is by Poomani, the author of the popular novel 'Vekkai'.
It is a known fact that the film was a blockbuster at the theatres, and now, the ebook version of the novel, which is available in the Amazon Kindle, has become the most sold ebook in Indian Language, despite the fact that the book originally released years ago as hard copy.
