SHOCKING REVELATIONS ABOUT CASTING COUCH IN TAMIL CINEMA

Recently, we at Behindwoods had an exclusive conversation with the eminent producer, writer, and columnist G Dhananjayan about the many nuances of the film industry, production and a lot of other topics. We also had a significant segment where he was questioned about his take on casting couch in Tamil Cinema. Here is what he had to say;

''Casting couch exists only in upma companies. These are the production enterprises that come into the industry purely with the motive of cheating actresses. They know that there are opportunities and they just try to take advantage of it. It is still happening with these companies. There will be around 20 such companies in a year. I would suggest upcoming actresses to go with their parents for casting auditions.

I have seen actors from the North, even with modern upbringing, coming with their mothers, fathers, aunts, etc., If they go with their parents, they make it very clear that they are not available, so people won't even ask. If somebody asks also, they must divert them to their parents. These upma companies will take 100% advantage even if these actresses show a 50% interest in what they ask. So they need to be very careful. Companies who come to the industry with the motive of doing business and taking back what they invest, don't ever have casting couch. ''
