WHY IS SIVAKARTHIKEYAN PLAYING A LADY IN REMO?

Sivakarthikeyan’s Remo is yet to wrap up the shoot, and the team is currently in Pondicherry working on their final schedule. This final schedule is said to end by 10th of July. Meanwhile, Remo cast details were released yesterday, 28th of June, which had quite a few interesting names and role descriptions. While, Saranya Ponvannan plays Sivakarthikeyan’s mother, Naren and Kalyani Natrajan play Keerthy Suresh’s parents. Motta Rajendran and Sathish will be seen as Siva’s friends.

During the first look launch, it was told that Remo is a story of a man who goes to any extent to pursue his love and win over her. There are characters like drama teacher, drama actor, and film director played by Mouli, Swaminathan and director K.S.Ravikumar respectively. From this list, it looks like there will be a drama link to the film. Sivakarthikeyan might be associated with this drama troupe people, who might suggest him to dress up as a woman to win over his love Keerthy Suresh. There are also chances of this happening vice versa, where Sivakarthikeyan goes and asks for their suggestions and help.

It can be remembered that cult films like Avvai Shanmugi and Thillu Mullu were on these lines, having a film/drama artists link. In Avvai Shanmugi, Kamal Haasan fakes himself as a lady servant in order to live with his daughter and ex-wife. Likewise, in Thillu Mullu, Rajinikanth fakes a twin brother to make his boss believe. In both the films, late actor Nagesh played a vital part in making the actors dress up as a double. Not just these two, Remo also has a connect with Anniyan, as the title was coined by Arunraja Kamaraj, only with reference to the Remo character in the Vikram starrer. Vikram develops a personality “Remo” unknowingly, to win over Sadha in the film.

We will have to wait to know what would be the interesting knot here in Remo, which makes Siva dress up as a nurse. Remo is expected to be an engaging, cool and breezy romantic comedy entertainer, treated in a unique pattern. We will have to wait and watch!
