An official of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 27 raided a residence belonging to Karishma Prakash, manager of Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, and seized a small quantity of hashish.
Hashish weighing 1.8 grams was recovered during a search at Prakash's house Mumbai’s Versova area earlier in the day, the NCB official said. While Prakash was questioned last month, she was once more summoned on Wednesday but failed to appear.
So far, 23 people have been arrested in the drugs case pertaining to the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14. The Central Bureau of Investigation which is probing his death had earlier ruled that he died by suicide.
Rajput made a successful transition from television to the movies and was seen in crowd pleasers such as MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Chichhore. His death left several of his fans and industry members shaken.
