VIJAYAKANTH HOSPITALIZED - CLARIFICATION HERE!

Vijayakanth is an actor turned politician, who is currently the leader of DMDK party. He has acted in a lot of hit films like Ramana, Chatriyan, Engal Anna, etc., He was also the leader of the opposition in Tamil Nadu's Legislative Assembly from 2011-2016. Vijayakanth is one of the very few politicians and actors to have acted only in Tamil films throughout his career.

There were rumours going around on the internet that the DMDK supremo was admitted in a private hospital near Porur for dialysis. Dialysis is usually done in case of kidney failure. However, an official statement from the party stated that the he is perfectly fine and they are baseless rumours. 

The statement dated 31st August 2018, read: "Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam Leader and General Secretary Captain Vijayakanth is completely healthy. Please don't believe in rumours."

Vijayakanth has acted in more than 100 films, and he was last seen playing a cameo in Sagaptham, that had Shanmugapandian, his son playing the lead. The film released in 2015. He will also be seen playing a role in Shanmugapandian's next with Arun Ponnambalam, titled Thamizhan Endru Sol.
