Singam and Saamy 2 Cinematographer Priyan passed away today (November 9) due to a sudden heart attack. Priyan is 55 years old and hails from Virudhunagar.

He began his career as an assistant to veteran cinematographer/director Balu Mahendra. He is a close friend of director Hari and has worked in almost all his films except Venghai. Priyan is also the Vice President of Southern India Cinematographers Association (SICA). This sure is a massive loss to the Tamil film fraternity.

His body is said to be taken to his native, Virudhunagar, tonight, where the final rituals will be performed. The cremation will happen around 3 pm in the evening tomorrow (November 10). Priyan is survived by his wife Kalyani, and two daughters, Priya and Srimathi.
