Christopher Nolan is one of the Hollywood directors who has a wide fan following in India. He last directed the 2017 movie ‘Dunkirk’ and it received a splendid response from the audience. Ever since his next film ‘Tenet’ was announced, fans have been waiting for the release of it.
‘Tenet’ was initially scheduled for a release this July across the world, until CoronaVirus played spoilsport. The makers have decided to postpone the release and now, the official release dates have been released. This news is sure to make you sad, if you’re a big Nolan fan.
On Monday, Warner Bros announced that the movie will first release in over 70 territories that include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and other countries, on the 26th of August. The movie is scheduled to premiere in the USA over the labour weekend, from September 3rd. However, it is unclear as to which parts of the United States will the movie be screened, as new hotspots of the virus are emerging.
As far as the Indian subcontinent is concerned, the release date of ‘Tenet’ remains undecided as a concrete decision on the reopening of theatres from the Government is awaited. Although a section of reports suggest that Theatres, gyms and other recreational centres are likely to be opened from next month, it is still unclear if the Government will give clearance as the number of cases in the country has seen a steady increase in the past few weeks.
If this is the case, then it is indeed bad news for Indian fans as pirated versions of the movie will start floating all over the web. However, die hard fans who would definitely want to view the movie on the big screen would opt to wait.
Stay tuned for more updates.
