Christopher Nolan's previous venture, Interstellar was received with positive reviews by critics and fans. The film was praised massively for its making and concept. The expectations for Nolan's next film were sky high while he announced, Dunkirk, a war film which was based on World War II.
Dunkirk basically follows the allied soldiers in World War II who were stuck on France’s Dunkirk beach in 1940 surrounded by the German Army, almost facing death. Nolan opened up about this mighty project to Hollywood media and said, ''It’s the ultimate suspense story. The soldiers were faced with the choice between surrender and annihilation and the fact that this story ends in neither is why I believe Dunkirk to be one of the greatest stories in human history''
Nolan also said why the film, once released, must be watched in theaters. He said, ''This is a story that needs to carry you through this suspenseful situation and make you feel like you’re there, The only way to do that is with theatrical exhibition''.
Dunkirk is slated to release on July 21.
