Behindwoods caught up with VJ Chitra's best friend Selva and this is what he had to say.
"I couldn't believe that she is no more. Even when I saw her at the mortuary, it felt like she was sleeping or something. Her mother says that she was beaten to death. Government should inspect that angle. I learnt that the RDO who has been appointed in this case is a woman. Hopefully, Chithu will get justice," began Selva, an anchor who has known the late actress for about seven years now.
Like a lot of others, Selva too doesn't believe that it is a case of suicide. "She is a very bold person. She used to encourage others. Whoever did this to her should bear the consequence," he said.
"I am not able to believe the story of her asking her fiance to be out while she went for a bath. This needs to be properly investigated," he further added.
"If her fiance or husband had truly loved her, he would have come to the mortuary with police protection," he said adding that Chitra didn't share too many personal stories with her friend circle.
Selva said that Chitra had maintained that it was a marriage arranged by the parents to him. He ended his tribute by saying that she would remain the queen of television.
