The Central Board of Film Certification has denied certification for Neelam, a film dealing with the Sri Lankan Civil War. Following this, Venkatesh Kumar G, the producer and director of the film, has decided to appeal against this decision to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal at New Delhi.
According to the film's team, the film will now be screened for the officials of FCAT on December 9 at New Delhi. The film was denied certification due to its references to LTTE and their leader Prabhakaran, which the CBFC feels might affect relations between India and Sri Lanka.
Neelam is an upcoming Tamil movie which talks about the Sri Lankan civil war. The makers of Neelam have decided to release the dialogues on YouTube which were banned by the CBFC.
