Earlier in the day, the Kerala state awards were announced. Brindha and her nephew Prasanna won the best choreography award. They won the award for Mohanlal’s Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham, which is yet to be released.

Besides Mohanlal, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham features Suniel Shetty, Manju Warrier, Keerthy Suresh, Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan amongst others in prominent roles.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and co-produced by Santhosh T Kuruvila, and Dr. Roy CJ. The background score is handled by Rahul Raj, Ankit Suri and Lyell Evans Roeder.
The movie is based on Kunjali Marakkar, the naval chieftains of Zamorins of Calicut state. A sneak peek into the sets of Marakkar was released earlier by Priyadarshan which faithfully portrayed the grandeur.
