UnIndian, the first feature financed by the Australia India film fund has former cricketer, Brett Lee and Tannishtha Chatterjee and is directed by Anupam Sharma. The film is about cross cultural romance between a Caucasian man and an Indian woman with conservative upbringing. The film was shot in Sydney.
Now this film is said to be screened in the Antipodes Festival at Cannes during Cannes Films Festival this May 2016 and in October 2016 during St Tropez Film Festival. The film opened with a world premiere at Montreal and continued to be screened at number of film festivals throughout Europe and America. Director, Anupam Sharma will be presenting the film at Cannes Antipodes.
Producers, Lisa Duff and Anupam Sharma enroute to Cannes said “It is a delight this independent cross cultural comedy is being screened as part of an Australian focus at Cannes Antipodes, particularly after successful screening at festivals in London and California”.
