A meeting between the Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council and the theater owners association was held yesterday (March 28). We spoke to SS Durairaju, the Secretary of the TFPC to find out some intricate details about the meeting. Read ahead to know what he said.
"A meeting was held last week with the theater owners association and they said that they will revert within a week. Yesterday's meeting was a follow-up for the same. We have suggested that the Virtual Print Fee (VPF) to be paid to the satellite providers can be split 50-50 between the TFPC and the theater owners association for the next one year. After which, they can decide after discussing with the satellite providers as to what can be done further.
We have also decided that the accounts of all theaters must be computerized, and those who don't will not be given films. Theaters that have their own projectors need not pay the VPF."
