The film is being released by Red Giant Movies, a leading distribution company in Tamil Nadu. "Vikram" is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of Maanagaram, Kaithi and Master.

The film stars Kamal Haasan alongside actors Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. Kalidas Jayaram plays Kamal Haasan's son.

Vijay Sethupathi is paired with Shivani and Myna Nandini. Actor Suriya has made a special appearance.

Leading distributor AP International has acquired the entire foreign rights for Vikram's film at a record price.

Vikram's Andhra Pradesh, Telangana rights have been acquired by Shreshth Movies. The company is owned by Telugu actor Nitin.
