On August 28, Archana Kalpathi, the creative producer of Bigil, took to social media to give a stunning update. In a post, she had mentioned that the film is set for a Diwali release. The tweet also featured a poster in which the look of supporting characters, which includes Anandraj, Yogi Babu and the looks of other artistes were revealed.

After that, she had also posted another tweet saying that the next update regarding the film will be 'Verithanam', hinting that the next announcement might be made regarding the song from the film. She had also assured that September will be full of updates.

On the technical front, Bigil is shot by 'Mersal' fame lensman GK Vishnu while Ruben handles the edting department. The film is produced by AGS Entertainment. After Bigil, Vijay will be next seen playing the lead in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Thalapathy 64
