A person will be defined Maestro, or Gnani, only when the person has that much expertise and knowledge, both equally important. One such example of the same in the music field is Ilayaraja, the most loved Isaignani, the Maestro of music. Having ventured into Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and most Indian languages, the music composer has over 40 years of experience working in this industry.
In his career, it has been reported that he had composed most of his songs at Prasad Studios located at Saligrammam Chennai. An issue had arised between the composer and the studio owners regarding a room allocated to Ilaiyaraja, in which he usually composes his songs. Since then, Ilaiyaraja had stopped recording there.
Now, Director Bharathiraja along with Bhagyaraj, RK Selvamani, Seeman, Ramesh Khanna etc., went along to hold a conversation with Prasad Studios today (November 28th). But since they were not allowed inside, there was some tension in front of the studio, where a small protest broke out. The police arrived and held talks with the technicians and the protesting fans.
According to the latest reports, Director Bharathiraja briefed the media, and mentioned that they have held talks with Prasad Studio authorities, and have placed a request to them to allow Ilayaraja to continue composing in the same place for some time, during which they have notified that the film fraternity will themselves arrange a place for the Maestro. Bharathiraja mentioned that to move from a place where one has spent over 45 years is a tough task, and more so for a creative artist. He expressed hope that the Prasad Studio management would make haste in informing their decision. Catch the video here!
