The 7th Edition of the unique and much-needed award ceremony, Behindwoods Gold Medals is going to be held from 2 pm on Sunday, December 8th, 2019, at Chennai Trade Center, Nandambakkam. The star-studded event will be attended by more than 2000 people. Many eminent personalities are expected to grace the ceremony.
As a part of the Behindwoods Gold Medals, the popular Short Film Contest is a hunt for the upcoming talents of the industry. This year, the contest had received around 550+ entries and from that the top 50 films have been selected. The winner will be honoured with the Behindwoods Gold Medal, receive a cash prize of 1 lakh and a chance to direct a web-series produced by Kavithalayaa Productions and Behindwoods.
Here’s the list of the top 50 directors and their films that have been selected. The final winner among the top 5 will be announced at the Gold Medals event on December 8th.

Vikie (Chilra Illa Paa) - Untitled feature film under production bankrolled by CV Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainment
Shammeer Sultan (Naan 8) - Directed a web-series titled 'Weekend Machan' for Gautham Menon's Ondraga Entertainment. His debut Telugu feature film 'Meeku Maathrame Cheptha' produced by Vijay Deverakonda released recently this year.
SS Shree Karthick ( 'Childhood Dairies' won the special Mention award) - Directing an untitled feature film starring Sharwanand and Ritu Varma under production bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures.
