Legendary Carnatic singer and recipient of India’s 2nd highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan, Balamuralikrishna, passed away in Chennai at the age of 86 years today, the 22nd November.
He is a multi-instrumentalist, Carnatic singer, composer and has also acted in a few Tamil films. The French government has honored him with the prestigious Chevalier award in 2005.
His soulful rendition of Anbaley Azhgagum Veedu in Pasanga (2009) was one of his last renditions for a Tamil film.
