Balaji Tharaneetharan's next directorial venture after NKPK, Oru Pakka Kathai, which was facing censor issues all the while, has been cleared with a U certificate finally.
Director Balaji opened up about this to us, by saying, "The film's censor had problems due to the word intercourse. We went to the revising committee for the censor, and they agreed for the word intercourse. They told we can use it in the film, but we were awaiting the approval from the CBFC head office in Mumbai. We got the approval only yesterday (12th September) and finally received the U certificate. We are planning to release the film next month."
Director Balaji Tharaneetharan announced his next titled Seethakadhi featuring Vijay Sethupathi which is his 25th film. This project is funded by Umesh, Arun Vaidyanathan and Sudhan for their banner Passion Studios. We spoke to Balaji to get clarity on the characters in Seethakadhi and this is what he had to state.
“Vijay Sethupathi plays a stage performer in the film. He is a full-time actor and is someone who remains a stage performer since childhood. This film is going to be about acting and an actor. It is about a contemporary actor and acting only. If I have to elaborate further on this, it would be like telling the entire story.
Director Mahendran is playing a very important role in the film and it is not an antagonist role. His character is a pivot in Seethakadhi.
There is no heroine as such in the film but Gayathrie, Remya Nambeesan and Oviya play cameos”.
It has to be recalled that director Mahendran played a baddie in Vijay's Theri.
