“I am hurt, I want to clarify the truth behind few baseless allegations raised against me through you guys,” said director Bala with a sense of regret and disappointment in the recently held press meet to clear the air regarding the controversy surrounding the film Kutra Parambarai.
Kutra Parambarai is a novel authored by Vela Rama Murthi which has apparently garnered the attention of two ace filmmakers, Bharathiraja and Bala who have shown interest in adapting the core knot into a feature film. It should also be noted that this is a true incident from history.
“It is very childish to demand that only I can make this historical incident into a film. Because history can be made into a film by anyone. Can Kamal sir claim that only he can make Maradhunayagan? What Vela Rama Murthy and I have written is different from what Bharathiraja has taken from history. Rathanakumar blames that I am story thief and I am not intelligent. I condemn both of them (Bharathiraja and Rathanakumar) for having tarnished my name thus far. I am not answerable for your doubts. My film is truly different from what Bharathiraja is planning to make. This is my final warning to both of them.” Claimed Bala sternly while signing off at the press meet.
We hope this issue attains a resolution soon.
