PROUD MOMENT: POPULAR TAMIL ACTOR'S DAUGHTER SCORES BIG AT SOUTH ASIAN GAMES 2019

Jayaveena Vijay, daughter of Thalaivasal Vijay had recently represented India in swimming category at the 13th South Asian Games held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The swimmer had also bagged a silver medal in the 50m breast stroke category.

An accomplished swimmer, Jayaveena had won prizes and medals in various national and international tournaments. At the age of 12, Jayaveena became the youngest swimmer to win a medal in the Indian National Games.

India finished the 13th South Asian Games in style by topping the overall rankings with 312 medals in the the tally. Recently, Sports Authority of India has officially announced that the medalists will be receiving cash prizes (1.5 lakh rupees for Gold, 1 lakh rupees for silver and 50,000 rupees for bronze) from the Indian Government.
