'I CRIED THE FIRST TIME I HEARD SINGAPENNEY!': BIGIL CINEMATOGRAPHER GK VISHNU EXPLAINS! VIDEO HERE!

Talking about the FDFS Experience of Bigil, Cinematographer GK Vishnu said that he was satisfied to see that his hard work had paid off well. Remarking about the distinguishing elements infused to all three different characteristics of Vijay in Bigil, Vishnu mentioned that it was all visualized during Atlee's narration, and then brought to life before the camera exactly as required. The level of intensity to be impressed upon each character was done exactly in accordance to the requirement of the story, the cinematographer mentioned.

Recalling his most memorable and favorite shot, Vishnu remarked that it was when Rayappan will be sent for by the Collector and the police come to pick him up and manhandles him, and the closeup shots which followed boosted the impact of the scene. Talking about details that are required to boost or present a character, Vishnu lists out the following: Costume, Makeup and other than cinematography, lighting, framing, the first look of the character is of utmost importance, according to GK Vishnu.

GK Vishnu mentioned that he literally cried hearing Singapenney, when Director Atlee played it to him for the first time. He said that he kept thinking on how he could best improvise the scenes of such a wonderful song visually, and began to shoot the song only after 20-25 days of hearing it for the first time. 

Talking about Actor Vijay's hardwork, the cinematographer cited the actor's dedication and passion with regard to his tireless rehearsals for every shot and remarked that he did not know how Thalapathy Vijay keeps up his energy for his 63rd film.
