It has been officially announced that the Telugu remake of the Tamil drama Asuran will be starring 'F2' star 'Victory' Venkatesh and National Award-winning actress Priyamani as leads. Titled Narappa, the film is bankrolled by Kalaippuli S. Thanu of V Creations, who had also produced the original.
Directed by Sreekanth Addala, the maker of many successful ventures such as Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Kotha Bangaru Lokam and so on. The makers are currently shooting in the 'Kurumalai' region in Tamil Nadu, where the team is filming important action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein.
With Victory Venkatesh continuing his portions in Anantapur, the film is eyeing for a summer release. Narappa has cinematography by Syam K. Naidu while Marthand K Venkatesh and Gandhi Nadikudikar handle the editing and art departments respectively.
Adapted from the novel Vekkai, the Vetri Maaran directed Asuran tells the story of a family on the run after a gruesome incident. Emerging as one of the biggest critical and commercially successful films of 2019, the film was praised for its performances and storytelling.
