''I TOOK HER ON A BOAT AND PROPOSED''

Ashwin Kakumanu rose to fame with his performance in Ajith’s Mankatha. Subsequently, he went on to do films like Megha, Idharkuthaanae Aasaipattai Balakumara and Vedalam to name a few. Right now he is awaiting the release of Thiri and Thollaikaatchi. He is also doing Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai.

While the professional front is at a satisfying level, there is happy news from Ashwin on his personal front too. Yes, this young lad is getting married soon. We catch up with the actor.

“I will be getting married in the 3rd week of December to Sonali. She is from Chennai and has done her Masters from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She is a very creative person and is currently a freelance designer.

I met Sonali many years ago when I was trying to make short films. We had known each other for some time. I took her on a fishing boat and proposed. I had planned and put some lights on the boat, spent the afternoon there and surprised her. At that point in time, it was more of a formality as we had been seeing each other for some time. I am quite happy and looking forward to entering this new phase in my life”.
