Actor Ashok Selvan and Priya Anand's most-anticipated 2017 short film 'Maya' is finally out. The actor, who has been posting updates about the release of the short from time to time, shared the YouTube link of 'Maya' and wrote, "My personal favourite work of mine! Maya short movie is out now. Let me know what you guys think."

The short, which has him and Priya Anand in the lead roles is presented by Gautam Menon's Ondraga Entertainment and Directed by Ani I V Sasi, the maker behind the Tamil-Telugu Bilingual 'Ninnila Ninnila' which was released in February 2021. It is produced by I.We.Productions. Apart from script and direction, Ani. I.V. Sasi has handled editing as well.
Maya's plot revolves around a screenwriter's thought process of how to execute his next script. He struggles to think of a "commercial story" and decides to write a "love story that will fool the entire world". The 50-second teaser of the film premiered on June 5th.
Ahead of its release many noted celebrities wished them luck and extended their support. The 11-minute short film - which was shot entirely in a single location - won the Best Short Film (Fiction) at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival 2017.
On the workfront, Ashok Selvan has acted in the Mohanlal-starrer 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham' and will be seen in 'Hostel' where Priya Bhavani Shankar will be playing the female lead.
