99 Songs marks the debut of actors Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas and was directed by debutant Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. Vishwesh has worked as an ad filmmaker before the music composer offered him a chance to direct for his production. Vishwesh is also a musician himself, known for the Mumbai-based band Scribe.
99 Songs had premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in Busan, South Korea in 2019.
