The audio of Gautham Karthik's upcoming film Rangoon directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy was released just now in Chennai. Speaking at the function, director AR Murugadoss had some nice words to share about Rajkumar who happens to be his former assistant. Here goes his speech:
"He (Rajkumar) is a talented person. Be it the 12 man shootout in Thuppakki or the coin fight in Kaththi, he was helpful for me. Though he did not work with me during Kaththi, I used his assistance for the dubbing portion of the coin fight as I wanted few North Madras voices in the fight. He brought many people to dub, but I wasn’t satisfied, then he himself dubbed in his voice. You could find his voice at the background of that fight sequence.
When he left me, there was a competition among 2 top producers to fund his debut directorial. I don’t think any filmmaker would have had such a demand even before making his first film. The main reason for that is the script he had in hand. He has worked so hard for this script. I personally know the struggles that he had to undergo to do this project. I am 100% confident that Rajkumar would become a leading director very soon. There is so much of freshness in the film and I believe people will find this movie unique.
Gautham Karthik is one of my favorite young heroes. He has given a very good performance. When Simran made her debut, I was the assistant director of the film. I found the same spark in Sana (Rangoon's heroine) that I saw in Simran back then. I predict she will replace Simran’s place in Tamil cinema."
