Anusree Nair has always mesmerized the Malayalam audience with her natural and spontaneous acting ever since her debut in "Diamond Necklace". She has played the leading lady for Fahadh Faasil, Dileep, Kunchacko Boban and has also played cameo roles in many films. It was in the film "Red Wine", which released in the year 2013, that she got a chance to be in a Mohanlal film, but the role was a small one and did not have many scenes with the great actor. Though she was called to act in "Kanal" and one other Mohanlal film, she, unfortunately couldn't do them. It was after a long wait of 4 years after her debut in 2012, that she got to act alongside Mohanlal in the 2016 Priyadarshan film "Oppam".
On the sets of Oppam, Mohanlal teased her saying that whenever he calls her for a film she rejects it by saying that she is having severe shoulder pain. Even Priyadarshan jokingly asked Anusree if she is a new kind of actress who acts with her shoulder.
She had a problem with a vein in her left shoulder and this made it hard for her to move and lift heavy things with the left hand. Filming stunt scenes for her 2014 film "Ithihasa" complicated things and later she had to undergo a surgery.
When the makers of Pulimurugan offered her the role of 'Maina' (played by Kamalini in the film), her doctors advised her not to do an action film. Thus she had to let go of her dream to act opposite Mohanlal because of the surgery. The actress said that it was a big loss for her, but she hopes she'll get paired with the biggest star pretty soon.
