In another shocking news that has left the entire film fraternity deeply saddened is the death news of legendary actress Kumkum who passed away yesterday on July 28. The actress had worked in close to 100 films and was a part of several yesteryear hits like ‘Mother India’ and ‘Naya Daur’ to name a few.
The actress is best known for featuring in one of the iconic songs - “Kabhi aar kabhi paar” from 1954 film, Aar Paar. The song was a super-duper hit and still remains to be the favourite for many.
Film fraternity - singer Lata Mangeshkar, actor Dharmendra had taken to their social media and shared their grief and offered condolences to the bereaving family. Actor Jaaved Jaaferi wrote, “Another veteran passes on.. #KumKum aunty was not just an actor but also a very close family friend through my father. Debuting in AarPaar with the title song picturised on her,she went on to star in many films and breathed her last today. Inna lillaahe wa inna elaihe raaje’oon.”
