The latest celebrity to have succumbed to this novel virus is legendary musician and actor, Trini Lopez, who was also a guitarist and gained fame for his versions of Lemon Tree and If I Had A Hammer in the 1960s.
Aged 83, the star died on Tuesday, August 11 in Palm Springs, California due to Coronavirus complications. Tributes started pouring down for the late actor and singer. Several wrote that he has left a musical legacy behind!
Singer Pat Boone took to his social media and wrote, “Trini Lopez...what a great guy and wonderful friend. We played in celebrity tennis tournaments and laughed and sang. We both knew we were blessed to make a good living doing what we loved - making others happy! I’ll miss him - for a little while.”
