The latest big announcement that has come in from the South Indian Film Industry Joint Action Committee is that there will be a stoppage of screening of movies from March 2, 2018 in Andhra and Telangana states.
We had reported that the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce had been taking up with DSP’s (Qube, UFO and PXD) on VPF charges and other issues. After discussions for the past month with DSP’s, the chamber has now decided that they will go ahead with the stoppage of screening of films from March 2. In the press note, they have also requested theatre owners and exhibitors to cooperate with their decision even though there might be difficulties or losses for the sake of the betterment of the South Film Industry.
