"IF I SAY WHAT AJITH SIR SAID, PEOPLE WILL START SCOLDING ME BADLY..”

In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, Vijay Sarathy opened up about his VJ experience and about interviewing Thala Ajith, during the promotion of ‘Billa’. He also spoke about the criticisms that followed the interview.

Speaking about the experience, he said “It was an amazing experience interviewing Thala Ajith. As everyone is aware, he is a gem of a person. He greets everyone present in the studio right away, before starting the interview. He is very professional and I admire him a lot, for his attitude and his way of living.”

“During the interview, I actually put my leg over the other, just like how Thala was sitting. Many fans criticized me during that time and some started crossing the line. I got fed-up with all the abuses and mailed Ajith sir the link. He called me immediately and asked me to ignore all the criticisms and said that I did my job right. He also said a few more things and if I reveal that now, people will start scolding me badly. It was indeed a special moment, interviewing Thala.”

Vijay Sarathy also revealed about the time when Ajith called and surprised him. He said “During one of Siruthai Siva sir’s shooting, Ajith sir called and said that he was going to Shirdi, from Mumbai. Since both of us are big Sai Baba Devotees, he asked me what I wanted from Shirdi. I was hesitant at first, but later, asked him for a book on Sai Baba’s life history. He got me that and sent a signed one to me. It was a sweet surprise for me.”
