Soumiya said that while many men crib about accompanying the women in the household for shopping, Anbumani does it without a complaint. Our daughters too are very happy to go out shopping with him, she said and added that while he doesn’t buy much for himself, he’s happy to get the best for his wife, mom and daughters.

Regarding their first meet, Soumiya said, “Ours was an arranged marriage. His parents used to visit mine for lunching then and now and we got acquainted. His mom asked for my hand in marriage. My parents also agreed.”

Anbumani jumped in and said, “I was just 21 back then and in my final year of college. They didn’t tell me where we were going. I thought we were going for a restaurant or something. I said I didn’t want to get married but dad’s decision stands.”

Anbumani narrated the incident of going with his friend to meet Soumiya at her college. “She said that she needs to speak to her dad about speaking to me even though we had already had the bride seeing ceremony,” he said and added that in those 10 seconds they spoke, he came to know of her character and fell in love.
