An unidentified Twitter handle, claiming to be Tamilrockers, had challenged yesterday (21st September) that they would upload and publish Mersal's teaser immediately after the official release.
Now, as a result, that Twitter handle has been suspended and it is reported that the anti-piracy team is the one, who reported the account and worked against them.
It would be a great boon to Tamil cinema, if even piracy sites are suspended, as like how Twitter and Facebook handles are done, but we do know, that it is a Himalayan task to be accomplished. However, let us hope for it.
Mersal teaser weave refuses to subside. The teaser video continues to create a benchmark for Tamil cinema. It is inevitable for one big film's YouTube record to be broken by its successor but still what Mersal teaser has achieved is something truly remarkable in just 1 day.
In 24 hours, Mersal teaser crossed 1.1 crore views with 7.3 lakh likes. Wow, that is truly impressive even by Hollywood standards. Let us see if Mersal becomes the first film (worldwide) to have 1 million likes for a teaser video.
